Dear Mr. Stolz:
This is in response to your letter dated June 3, 1985 (Log No. 1758) concerning Subcooling Margin in Technical Specifications. Your letter requested Toledo Edison to review its Technical Specification Section 3.4.1.2 to confirm the adequacy of the specified subcooling margin for Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station Unit 1.
Toledo Edison has performed a cursory review of Section 3.4.1.2 and determined additional investigation is required for resolution. As a result of the June 9, 1985 incident, subsequent to your letter of June 3, 1985, all of our resources have been allocated to the investigation and necessary corrective actions.
Resource availability will allow Toledo Edison to respond to the adequacy of the Subcooling Margin by October 1, 1985.
