Dear Mr. Stolz:

Toledo Edison has been reviewing the adequacy of the specified subcooling margin for the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station Unit No. I as stated in our letter dated July 15, 1985 (Serial No. 1169). We have determined that a revision to our specified subcooling margin is appropriate.

Due to the June 9, 1985 event, our resources are heavily allocated to the completion of related investigations and the implementation of '

corrective actions. However, we plan to revise and approve the appropriate procedures concerning subcooling margin and provide your j office with any necessary submittals, prior to Restart.
