i This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Mr. W. P. Kleinsorge of
this office on June 8-11, 1982, of activities authorized by NRC Construction
permit Nos. CPPR-116 and CPPR-117 for the Catawba facility and to the discussion

of our findings held with Mr. S. W. Dressler, Sr. Construction Engineer, at the
conclusion of the inspection.

Areas examined during the inspection a,1d' our findings are discussed in the
enclosed inspection report. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of
/ selective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with
! personnel, and observations by the inspector.
i Within the scope of this inspection, no violations or deviations were disclosed.

- Two new unresolved items resulted from this inspection and are discussed in the
l enclosed report. These items will be examined during subsequent inspections.
