Enclosed is the NRC license amendment which you requested.
Please review the enclosed document carefully and be sure that you understand '
all conditions. If there are any errors or questions, please notify us so [
that we can provide appropriate corrections and answers. ;
It should be noted that Amendment No.10 authorizes you to move the nuclear l
medicine program to your new facility, but it does not approve the release of l
the fonnerly used areas for unrestricted use. When your ' move is complete, j
contamination wipes and a radiation-level survey should be conducted to
verify that no significant contamination remainc in the old nuclear medicine
,
l
areas. The enclosed guidelines, dated July 1982 state acceptable release
limits. Your surveys should be documented as described in Appendix ! of
Regulatory Guide 10.8 Rev. 1, copy enclosed. Submit these survey records
with a request to amend the license to delete the former nuclear medicine l
areas. In your request, refer to Control No. 70762. ,
1
DoorstotheImagingArea(F08)andtotheHotLaboratory(F07)shouldbe :
locked when unattended by an authorized user in compliance with 10 CFR

When the lead-bricks are installed in the Hot Laboratory and a new generator
has been received, a thorough radiation-level survey should be conducted in
the Corridor (E14), the Reception Area (E16), and the toilet (E15) '4o assure
that levels in unrestricted areas do not exceed the limits stated in 10 CFR
20.105. It may be necessary to re-arrange or add bricks to prevent streaming
