SAFETY EVALUATION REPORT Docket No. 71-9320 Model No. MIDUS Transport Package Certificate of Compliance No. 9320 Revision No. 5
SUMMARY
By application dated May 26, 2021 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System
[ADAMS] No. ML21147A125), Energy Solutions (the applicant) requested to change the address in the Certificate of Compliance (CoC) No. 9320, for the Model No. MIDUS transport package. The applicant also requested the renewal of CoC No. 9320. The address in the CoC has been changed to 740 Osborn Road, Barnwell, SC 29812 and the certificate has been renewed for a five-year term.
The following sections include the staffs evaluation and findings in the areas related to the review.
EVALUATION The staff reviewed the applicants requests to renew the CoC the Model No. MIDUS and to change the address in the certificate to 740 Osborn Road, Barnwell, SC 29812. Per the applicants request, there are no changes to the application for the Model No. MIDUS transportation package dated January 30, 2017, which is currently referenced in Revision No. 4 of the certificate (ADAMS Accession No. ML17103A016). There are no additional supplements listed in the CoC. The change in address is an administrative change that do not impact the approved design of the package or its ability to perform its safety function.
Based on the statements and representations provided by the applicant, the staff concludes that the package meets the requirements of 10 CFR Part 71.
CONDITIONS The following conditions of the CoC were revised or added to the certificate:
- 1) In Condition No. 1.b., the revision No. of the certificate was increased to 5.
- 2) Condition 3.a. the certificate holder address has been revised as follows:

- 3) Condition No. 8 has been revised to allow using Revision 4 of the CoC until November 30, 2022.
- 4) Condition No. 9 has been revised to reflect the new certificate expiration date.
- 5) The REFERENCES section has been updated to include the letter requesting these actions as a supplement to the application.
Based on the application and its supplements, the staff finds that the information provided by the applicant is adequate and the package continues to meet the requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Part 71.
CONCLUSION The certificate has been revised and also renewed for a five-year term, which expires on November 30, 2026. Based on the statements contained in the application, and the conditions listed above, the staff concludes that the changes to the certificate indicated by the applicant do not affect the ability of the package to meet the requirements of 10 CFR Part 71.
