DRAFT RECOMMENDATIONS TO ED0 CONCERNING WHETHER AND HOW TO CONTINUE WITH ONGOING RULEMAKING SPONSORED BY RES The Division of Engineering has reviewed the draft recommendations to the ED0 concerning whether and how to continue periodic amendments to 10 CFR 50.55a to update the reference to the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (ASME Code) editions and addenda.
We recommend the current proposed amendment to 10 CFR 50.55a incorporate by reference the code edition and addenda identified in Item 1 of Enclosure 2 to your memorandum dated December 27, 1984. With respect to Item 2 of Enclosure 2 we reconsnend the periodic endorsement of future code editions and addenda without delay in periodic amendments to 10 CFR 50.55a. As a principal user of the ASME Code we consider this rule worthwhile.
