Dear Mr. Scarola:
This refers to the meeting conducted at your staffs request at the Region II Office in Atlanta, Georgia on October 24, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. The meetings purpose was to introduce the new nuclear leadership team, and to discuss the performance of the various Progress Energy plants.
Enclosed is a list of attendees and the information presented during the meeting.
The discussions included the following topics: fleet organizational changes, your plants recent accomplishments, and current challenges. The meeting was candid and informative and provided useful insight into your staffs understanding and resolution of the discussed topics.
The meeting did not result in specific action items or decisions.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR) or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRCs document system (ADAMS).
