3 LER No.: 50-366/1981-042 Licensce: Georgia Power Company-Facility: Edwin I. Hatch Docket No.: 50-366 Narrative Report for LER 50-366/1981-042 With the reactor at 2425 MWt, on April 26,1981, the 2T46-F003A, Refueling Floor Outlet Damper, failed to operate while performing HNP-2-3655, Standby Gas Treatment System Ventilation Operability Surveillance. This valve is required to be operable per Tech Spec 3.6.6.1. A. The redundant ventilation system was proven operable. Plant Operation was not affected as a result of this event. This is a non-repetitive event.
The cause of this occurrence has been attributed to a faulty pilot solenoid valve. The pilot solenoid valve was replaced and HNP-2-3655 was performed satisfactorily.
A generic review revealed no inherent problems with valve operators of this type.
Public health and safety were not affected by this event.
