Hatch Docket No. : 50-366 Narrative Report for LER 50-366/1981-053 On June 11, 1981, while the plant was in steady state operation at 1927 MWt and while performing HNP-2-5279, Barksdale Pressure Switch Calibration, 2C71-N003 A,B and C, Turbine First Stage Pressure Permissive Switches, were found out of tolerance. Switch 2C71-N003D was found to be operable and actuating within expected tolerance. Tech Specs Table 3.3.1-1, Item 9, requires actuation at 160 psig + 12 psig head correction. Plant operation nor the health and safety of the public was affected by this event. This is a non-repetitive event.
The cause of this event has been attributed to setpoint drift.. The switches was recalibrated per HNP-2-5279, Barksdale Pressure Switch Calibration, and functionally tested successfully per HNP-2-3010, Turbine First Stage Pressure Permissive Functional Test and Calibration, and returned to service.
Unit I uses the same type switch -for this application. A generic review revealed no inherent problems.
