FW: Whiteville to Fayetteville I have received the following from Tetra tech regarding the induced shock issue for the Whiteville-to-Fayetteville transmission line:

Tetra Tech NUS examined the plan and profile drawings (TD-1 1680, sheets 30A to 63) for the Whiteville-to-Fayetteville spans of the Brunswick-to-Fayetteville transmission line, identifying 30 paved road crossings. Almost all crossings had clearances greater than 40 feet at either 200 degrees Fahrenheit or 212 degrees Fahrenheit, depending on the specific drawing. Three exceptions had clearances as follows:

NCSR 2023 at 2900+76 39 feet NCSR 1134 at 3380+371 36 feet NCSR 119 at 3807+61 36 feet The spans used the standard medium tangent H-frame used by all the Brunswick transmission lines.

These specific road crossings were compared with previous analyses for Brunswick transmission lines, the lowest clearances of which had the following induced current.

Line Location Road Clearance Induced Current Whiteville 816+53 US 17

Accordingly, the analysis results presented in Progress Energy's Environmental Report, Operating License Renewal Stage, Brunswick Steam Electric Plant would bound the impacts of the Whiteville-to-Fayetteville spans.
