SUBJECT:

UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA - CHANGE IN PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND PROJECT MANAGER FOR UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA RESEARCH REACTOR

Dear Dr. Williams:

On April 18, 2011, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff project management for your facility will transfer from the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, Division of Policy and Rulemaking, to the Office of Federal and State Materials and Environmental Management Programs (FSME), Division of Waste Management and Environmental Protection (DWMEP).

This change in regulatory oversight will allow licensees to capitalize on FSME experience and expertise in the evaluation of any future dismantlement, decontamination, and license termination activities.

John B. Hickman has been assigned as your Project Manager in FSME/DWMEP. He can be reached at (301) 415-3017. Future official correspondence, in accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 50.4(a) Written communications, should be directed to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, ATTN: Document Control Desk, Washington, DC 20555-0001.

If you have any questions or comments regarding this change in project management oversight, please call me at (301) 415-4103.

Sincerely,

/RA/
