RESULTS OF PERIODIC REVIEW OF REGULATORY GUIDE 8.26 This memorandum documents the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) periodic reviews of Regulatory Guide (RG) 8.26, Revision 0, Applications of Bioassay for Fission and Activation Products. As discussed in Management Directive 6.6, Regulatory Guides, the NRC staff reviews RGs periodically to ensure that the RGs continue to provide useful guidance.
Documentation of the NRC staff reviews is enclosed with a brief description listed below:
- RG 8.26 has been reviewed with issues identified for future consideration. The staff will consider revising Revision 0 to RG 8.26 if more substantive changes to applicable standards are published, or if the staff finds that further guidance is needed in the implementation of bioassay for fission and activation products.
