Document Control Desk Attachment RC-10-0017 Page 1 of 1 The following commitment reduction, with a brief justification, was performed in 2009 in accordance with VCSNS's Commitment Reduction Program, which was developed following NEI 99-04 "Guidelines for Managing NRC Commitment Changes": CR-09-01206 Commitment

-The cable from PARR to VCSNS will be used at conductor temperatures not to exceed 105 0 C. The emergency temperature rating will be 140 0 C for periods which shall not exceed 100 hours0.00116 days <br />0.0278 hours <br />1.653439e-4 weeks <br />3.805e-5 months <br /> per year. Such 100 hour0.00116 days <br />0.0278 hours <br />1.653439e-4 weeks <br />3.805e-5 months <br /> overloads shall not exceed 5 over the lifetime of the plant.Justification for deletion -Design parameters and equipment ratings should not be considered as a commitment to the NRC. The emergency temperature rating of 140 0 C is the cable overload (capability) rating of the cable. The design is such that the cable will not reach the temperatures that require tracking; therefore, temperature monitoring capability is not required.
