A double blade guide (DBG) is a metal rig placed in a empty fuel cell so that a control rod can be supported when its inserted. It takes the place of 2 of 4 fuel bundles in a cell at the diagonal. Then fuel bundles are loaded, the DBG removed, and the remaining 2 fuel bundles are loaded.
This is mostly used during outage activities.
