The base period of performance of this contract is from August 26, 2018, through August 25 , 2019, with four 1-year option periods extending to August 25, 2023. Draft Regulatory Issue Summary: Request for Comment: Chapter I of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations; NRC-2018-0185 On August 30, 2018 , the NRC issued for public comment (83 FR 42623) a draft regulatory issue summary (RIS) "Use of Electronic Signatures by Medical Licensees on Internal Documents." The draft RIS describes one means by which medical licensees can use electronic signatures to satisfy NRC's signature requirements on internal records that the NRC requires the licensee to maintain. Office Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR) Items of Interest Week Ending August 31, 2018 Peach Bottom, Units 2 and 3, Subsequent License Renewal Application Acceptance On August 27, 2018, the staff completed their acceptance review of the subsequent license renewal application (SLRA) to extend the operating period for Peach Bottom, Units 2 and 3, for an additional 20 years. This is the second SLRA submitted by industry to the NRC and the first for a boiling water reactor. The staff has determined that the application is sufficient and acceptable for docketing in accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Sections 2.101, 51.45, 51.53(c), 54.19, 54.21, 54.22, and 54.23. The staff will now begin their more detailed review of the application.

Pre-licensing Meeting with Duke Energy On August 29, 2018, representatives of Duke Energy and staff held a pre-licensing meeting with Duke Energy to discuss a possible exigent amendment to technical specification (TS) TS 4.2.2 to permit operation with one less than the required number of control rods during the upcoming operating cycle at McGuire Nuclear Station, Unit 2.
