SUBJECT:
COMANCHE PEAK STEAM ELECTRIC STATION (CPSES)
DOCKET NOS. 50-445 AND 50-44G BREAKER / FUSE C0 ORDINATION SDAR: CP-86-25 (FINAL REPORT)
Dear Mr. Johnson:
On April 10, 1986, we verbally notified your Mr. R. Hall of a deficiency involving a possible concern in that without full breaker / fuse coordination, portions of the CPSES damage' study could be incorrect. We have submitted interim reports logged TXX-4789 and TXX-4930, dated May 9,1986, and July 22, 1986, respectively.
Evaluation of this issue has shown that although a lack of coordination exists for several safety related loads, their circuit breakers / fuses and respective cables are in areas where high or moderate energy lines are not located.
Thus, the location of these components precludes a pipe whip or jet from compromising the safe shutdown capability of the plant. Therefore, we have concluded that this issue is not reportable under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e).
Records supporting this determination are available for your inspectors to review at the CPSES site.
Very truly yours,
!Y
