Dear Mr. Johnson:
On June 23, 1986, we notified you of a reportable item involving linear indications on impellers for the component cooling water (CCW) pumps (see TXX-4871).
This is a follow-up interim report on a reportable item under the provision of 10CFR50.55(e). We received an extension in submitting this report from your Mr. T. Westerman until Octoher 3, 1986.
The inspection of the Unit 1, Train A, CCW pump inpeller is currently scheduled for completion in October,1986.
Train B impeller will be inspected following the availability of Train A service water (scheduled for mid-November 1986). Upon completion of each inspection, the extent of the required rework will be determined and the repair will be scheduled as required.
We are processing a requisition for the off-site repair of the replacement
