On May 27, 1986, we verbally notified your Mr. T. F. Westerman of a deficiency involving dimensional tolerances of the shims used in conjunction with C-Type clamps on cable trays. This is an interim report of a potentially reportable item under the provision of 10CFR50.55(e). We have submitted interim reports logged TXX-4874 and TXX-6056, dated June 26, 1986, and October 21, 1986, respectively.
The testing program described in TXX-6056 has not yet been completed. Our current schedule for completing these tests is January 15, 1987. Our evaluation of the test data and an assessment of the effects of the deficiency on the safety of plant operations are scheduled to be completed by March 31, l
