NRC Notice of Violation Dated October 3, 1986 We have evaluated your November 3,1986, response to the subject Notice of Violation in which you deny the violation. The subject event is approximately two years old and the involved individuals have inconsistent recollections of the circumstances associated with the event. In view of the foregoing, it seems that it would be impossible to resolve the matter.
However, in your correspondence you have agreed that there was a need to improve control and documentation of radiation work permits and have taken the appropriate corrective actions. Subsequent NRC inspections have verified those actions.
- The purpose of a Notice of Violation by the NRC is to effect corrective actions to ensure compliance with NRC requirements and effect improvements in regulated activities. Therefore, since you have taken action to improve your control and documentation of such activities, we consider further action to be unwarranted and do not intend to pursue the matter further.
