This preliminary notif ication supplements information in PNO-III-07-009, which documented theshutdown of Perry Unit 1 on June 29, 2007, to repair the motor of one of the two reactor waterrecirculation pumps.Troubleshooting revealed that motor replacement was necessary. The motor was replaced onJuly 16, 2007, and subsequently passed its post-maintenance testing requirements.Reactor startup commenced on July 23, 2007, at 4:58 pm. Startup is in progress and the plantis currently scheduled to synchronize to the grid on July 24, 2007.The plant's shutdown has been covered by local media outlets.
