Submission Date for Purdue University Responses to RAIs in NRC Letter REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR THE LICENSE RENEWAL FOR PURDUE UNIVERSITY RESEARCH REACTOR, Dated August 29, 2014.

Purdue University License No. R-87 Docket No. 50-182

Cindy, As a follow-up to our telephone conversation of Sept. 12, 2014, this email is to inform you that Purdue University will respond to the 14 Requests for Additional Information in the NRC Letter dated August 29, 2014 (ADAMS Accession No.: ML14115A221; received via email on Sept 03, 2014) by March 31, 2015.

The basis for this date is that our immediate focus, having just received my SRO license letter Sep 04, 2014, will be on effecting the Start-up of the PUR-1 reactor after our extended outage. We are currently staffed with one SRO (R. Bean) and our reactor supervisor, who will be training for his own SRO exam. In addition to this we have only limited part-time support from graduate and/or undergraduate students.

Our staff is also responsible for teaching and supporting University courses.

In addition, after a preliminary review of the questions, we feel that we will need to fully re-do the calculations in support of Chapter 13 in the SAR. Since all staff personnel who performed the original calculations have moved to other employment, it will take just as much time to repeat the work as to understand and adjust the previous modeling.
