RE: Re: SRO and RO Exams Good afternoon True, Lets plan on the week of October 11. I should be able to arrive either the morning or afternoon of Tuesday August 12. We can conduct the exam entrance and exam review (if you would like to have David review it) that afternoon. Wednesday August 13 can be the SRO and RO operational portions of the exam. The morning of Thursday August 14 can be the written examination with an exam exit around noon.

While we have goals to get examination results done as quickly as possible to support your staffing situation, please note that it can take up to 90 days for us to process.

As soon as you are able to finish the control manipulations and complete the applications for the candidates, please forward those for our review (~14 working days or 3 weeks prior to the exam start date).

[External_Sender] Re: SRO and RO Exams Hello Bill, Thank you for the detailed response and for your continued flexibility. Yesterday, August 11th, Dr Kim and I had our exit interview with Phil O'Bryan to close the event response inspection.

We have now been informed that the NRC is comfortable with our analyses and corrective actions and we are clear to resume reactor operations. We plan on resuming operations as soon as next week. We would prefer approximately 1 month following the restart of our reactor before the exams. The dates that would work best for us and fit in Dave's schedule are the weeks of October 11th and 17th. Any days during these two weeks would work for us.

Please let us know what would work best for you.

RE: SRO and RO Exams

True, Thank you for your email and insights on your progress.

I would initially offer that I have the weeks of August 30, September 6 (subject to travel approval around the Federal holiday), September 13, and October 11 (subject to travel approval around the Federal holiday). I could make the weeks of September 20, October 4, and October 17 work; however, these are less desirable as I will be conducting other examinations around those dates.

Additionally, I would note that, with Davids planned retirement date around the end of October, that we will be challenged to turn around the operator licensing documentation the further we push the examination date back.

On a separate note, if we push the examination date back, it will be beneficial to ensure that surveillances and other PUR-1 license requirements are met such that a licensed operator is not needed until the documentation is complete.

Do you have an idea of how much time you will need to restore the reactor to operation and complete training activities once you receive communications or feedback from the NRC on the ongoing safety related issue(s)?

[External_Sender] SRO and RO Exams Hi Bill, I believe Phil, Cindy, and Travis have been keeping you up to date on the progress of our special event report. Unfortunately we were hoping to be operational by the begining of this week but that window has come and gone and it may be a little longer still until that happens.

Earlier you gave the impression that you had some flexibility in when the exams could be administered. Is this still the case? If so would you have any time slots available in the second half of Septemeber or the first half of October? Please let us know as these later dates would still work for our timeline as Dave Storz's departure is not untl the end of October.

Thank you,
