There were no visible signs of injury or abnormalities and the condition of the turtleindicates that the death was recent. Therefore, the lethal take is most likely attributed to plantoperations. A necropsy will be performed and, if it is determined that the take [death of the turtle] is not attributed to plant operations, an update to this notification will be made, Notification to the NorthCarolina Wildlife Resource Commission was completed at 1530 hours Eastern Daylight Time (EDT)."This non-emergency notification is being made pursuant to 10 CFR 50.72(b)(2)(xi) due to thenotification to the State agency."The NRC Resident Inspector has been notified."
