Letter dated April 11, 1988, from George S. Thomas to the Document Control Desk, transmitting clarification of changes to the Seabrook Station Operational Quality Assurance Program.

Region I staff reviewed the changes to the Seabrook Station Operational Quality Assurance Program transmitted in Reference 1 above and identified several items requiring clarifications. These items included the changes in responsibilities and reporting authority for various management positions; the frequency of meetings between the Vice President, Engineering and Quality Programs and the Nuclear Quality Manager; and the documentation of the Nuclear Quality Review and disposition of nonconforming items. The specific items were provided to your staff during a telephone discussion on November 19, 1987.

You provided the necessary clarification for these items in reference 2 above.

Based on-the initial review of the changes submitted on October 19, 1987 and your subsequent clarifications submitted on April 11, 1988, the Region i staff determined that these program changes are acceptable as they do not reduce the comitments of your previously approved program.

The effectiveness of your Quality Assurance program implementation will continue to be the subject of routine NRC inspections.
