Rancho Seco License Termination Plan Revision 1 Glossary of Terms, Acronyms and Abbreviations May 2008 Glossary of Terms Background Radiation - Radiation from cosmic sources, naturally occurring radioactive material, and global fallout, which contributes to the background radiation.
