The turtle was emaciated with no visible signs of injury. The condition of the turtle indicatesthat the death was recent. Therefore, the lethal take is most likely attributed to plant operations. Anecropsy will be performed and, if it is determined that the take is not attributed to plant operations, an update to this notification will be made. Notification to the North Carolina Wildlife Resource Commissionwas completed at 1205 hours Eastern Daylight Time (EDT)."This non-emergency notification is being made pursuant to 10 CFR 50.72(b)(2)(xi) due to thenotification to the state agency."The licensee has notified the NRC Resident Inspector.
