These changes involve a conversion from a dial-up modern-based system to an based system using a plant information server and NRC supplied Virtual Private Network (VPN) appliance.

During implementation of this change, the existing ERDS link will remain available and will not affect the plant's ability to activate the existing ERDS link, if required.

As a result of the ERDS VPN implementation, several data point names will also change. Once these name changes have been implemented, PPL will submit a letter to the NRC within 30 days, as required by 10 CFR 50, Appendix E, Section VI.3.a. If you have any questions regarding this confirmation of receipt, please contact Mr. John L. Tripoli, Manager, Nuclear Regulatory Affairs, at (570) 542-3100. Copy: Mr. P. W.
