NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY OF THE DRAFT PLANT-SPECIFIC SUPPLEMENT 46 TO THE GENERIC ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT FOR LICENSE RENEWAL OF NUCLEAR PLANTS REGARDING SEABROOK STATION
==Dear Mr. Chapman:==
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has prepared the enclosed draft plant-specific Supplement 46 to NUREG-1437, "Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants," regarding the license renewal of Seabrook Station (Seabrook),
located in Rockingham County, New Hampshire. The proposed action (license renewal) is not a major construction activity. We are requesting your comments on this draft supplement and its preliminary conclusions.
In a letter dated July 16, 2010, the NRC requested that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) provide a list of species and information on protected, proposed, and candidate species and critical habitats that may be in the vicinity of the Seabrook site and it's transmission lines' right-of-way. The FWS replied to this request on September 1, 2010, and indicated that the federally threatened piping plover (Charadrius me/odus) and federally endangered roseate tern (Sterna dougal/i!) are known to occur along the coastal beaches and oceanic waters located approximately 2.8 miles east of Seabrook; however, neither species are known to frequent the immediate vicinity of Seabrook. As described in the enclosure. the NRC staff's preliminary conclusion is that the impacts on federally listed terrestrial and freshwater aquatic species would be SMALL.

NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY OF THE DRAFT PLANT-SPECIFIC SUPPLEMENT 46 TO THE GENERIC ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT FOR LICENSE RENEWAL OF NUCLEAR PLANTS REGARDING SEABROOK STATION

Dear Mr. Chapman:
