In our letter of May 5,1978, (LER 78-33/0lT-0) we notified you of higher than expected neutron dose rates being experienced at North Anna Power Station Unit No. I which were the result of neutron streaming from the n cinity of the reactor cavity. The intent of this letter is to infors you that we are planning the installation of supplementary neutron shielding utilizing the same design configuration as the shielding already installed in Unit No. 2.The shielding was described in our letter of January 31, 1979 (Serial No. 100A). It is our intention to install the shield during the upcoming reft eling outage scheduled for Unit No. 1.
