The turtle was emaciated with no visible signs of injury. The condition of the turtle indicates that the death was recent. Therefore, the lethal take is most likely attributed to plant operations. A necropsy will be performed and, if it is determined that the take is not attributed to plant operations, an update to this notification will be made. Notification to the North Carolina Wildlife Resource Commission was completed at 1205 hours Eastern Daylight Time (EDT).
