Description'of the Problem An operability test' of a representative sample of Quality Assurance Category

'II and Category III, ' UL-listed scurtain-type fire dar-s revealed that some

dampers. fail ed ~ to satisfactorily close under a'r flow and pressure conditions. The test was performed by American Warming and Ventilating, Inc.,

- at our request.

-flow, an evaluation of Quality Assurance Category I curta n-type f re dampers i

is being made, to ensure that they will close against the system air flow.

This evaluation,. is based on the test results of Quality Assurance Category II L

-and --III' dampers.

Category I curtain-type fire dampers have been supplied.to P

Nine Mile Point 2 by Pacific Air Products.

The; matter is still under investigation-and a final report will be submitted by August 29, 1985
