This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Dr. J. Jaag of this

office on May 23-27, 1988 of activities authorized by NRC License No. DPR-61

at the Haddam Neck Plant and to the discussions of our findings held by

Dr. J. Jang with Mr. D. Miller, Jr. and others of your staff at the conclusion

of the inspection.

Areas examined dJring this inspection are described in the NRC Region I Inspec-

tion Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the

inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative

records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.

Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed.
