2) EP 1.71 is a Class I, Group 2 s v unit as perthe PBRF Find Status Survey P h (FSSP) and Technical Basis Document WD)-06-004.

3) Surveys in EP 1.71 were performed wing a scintilintion d mopthhd to measure gamma energies representative of Co-60. Sample #EP2-5 from Suwey Request (SR)-13 as re&mce.dfor tbis decision-Description acquisition of survey measmmen&.

5 ) Instmmetrt eficiency d e k m h t i o n s are developed in accordance with the BSL'LVS-002, WEP 05-086, these determinations are appropriate for the types of radiation involved and the media being surveyed.

FSS Design # EP 1.71 Revision # Original Page 2 of 3 S w e y Unit: 1.71 1.O History~scription 11 The subject pipe system is the 2" hot drain pipe for C a d "H".Tbe function of this pipe was to convey water fkom the 2 inch riser in Canal "H"to the HD sump in Pump Room #22 on the -25' elevation ofthe Reactor Building.

1-2 EP 1.7 1 consists of 2" d i e t e r piping that is appmxhate1y 120 feet in length.

2.0 Survey Design Information 2-1 EP 1. .71 was surveyed IAW Procedure #BSVLVS-002.

2.2 100% of the 2" ID pipe was accessible for survey. The accessible 2" ID pipe was surveyed by static measurement at one foot increments, for a total of 120 s w e y measurements.

2.3 Surface area for the 2" ID piping is 486 cm2for each foot of piping, C O to a total 2"~ID piping surface

~ area of 58,373 cm2(5.8 m2) for the entire length of (approximately 1 20') of 2"' piping.

3.0 S w e y Unit Measurement LocationslData 3.1 Pipe Mar radiological survey forms are provided in Attachment 2 of this release record.

4.0 Survey Unit InvestigationdResults 4.1 None 5.0 Data Assessment Results 5.1 Data assessment results are provided in the EPlBuried Pipe (BPI Survey Report provided in Attachment I .

5.2 ALL measurement results are less thttn the Derived Concentration Guideline Level @CGL) for radionuclide specific EP that corresponds to the 1 mdyr dose goal established in Table 3-3 ofthe FSSP.

m enimplementing the Unity Rule, provided in Section 3.6.3of the FSSP,and applying the Nuclide Fraction p), provided in TBD-06-004, the survey unit that is constituted by EP 1.71 passes FSS.

5.4 Background was not subtracted from the survey measurements and the Elevated Measurement Comparison (EMC)was not employed for this survey unit.

6.1 A miw of the survey results has shown that the dose contribution for EP 1.71 to be lesstban 1 &. The dose cmtrihdon is e s t k k d t o be 0.013 mremlyr based on the average of the actual gross counts measured.
