"On June 2, 2012, a Kemp's Ridley Sea Turtle (1) was retrieved from the 1B Circulating Water Intake Pump Trash Rack. There were no visible signs of injury or abnormalities and the condition of the turtle indicates that the death was recent. Therefore, the lethal take is most likely attributed to plant operations. A necropsy will be performed and, if it is determined that the take [death of the turtle] is not attributed to plant operations, an update to this notification will be made, Notification to the North Carolina Wildlife Resource Commission was completed at 1530 hours Eastern Daylight Time (EDT).
