Dear Sir or Madam:
Pursuantto 10 CFR 21.21(a)(2), Waterford 3 hereby submits this interim report.
The deviation to be evaluated is the failure of Westinghouse Process Analog Computer (PAC)
Analog Comparator (NAC) model number 2838A32G01, Control Board (NCB) model number 2838A30G01 I, and Prom Logic (NPL) model number 2838A33G01 circuit cards. Texas Instrument S/N74LSO4N WI 13 Hex Inverter chips are the cause of the Westinghouse card failures, with lot numbers 45CT3VK, 45CT8VK, and 43A80KM being suspect.
Westinghouse is performing an investigation of the chip failures. Evaluation of the failure is expected to be complete by August 21, 2018.
