1 to Attachment W3F1 -2007-0065 Generic Letter 2007-01 Response to NRC RAI on to W3F1 -2007-0065 Page 1 of 1 In NRC letter dated November 20, 2007, the following three requests were made for additional information. The associated response is provided along with each request for information.

1. Provide the type of cable insulation for the cable failures included in Waterford 3 response to GL 2007-01.

Response

One cable failure was identified in the original response submitted via Entergy Letter W3F1 -2007-0017 dated May 3, 2007. The insulation type for that cable is Ethylene Propylene Rubber. The cable is a 250 MCM aluminum conductor cable, rated at 5 kv.

2. Discuss any exceptions and/or deviations, if any, from the NEI guidance, as supplemented by the NRC additional guidance.

Response

Waterford 3 performed the research on underground cable failures in accordance with NEI guidance. The methodology of the search did not deviate from the additional guidance supplemented by the NRC.

3. If Waterford 3's response to GL 2007-01 excluded cable failures based on the NEI guidance (i.e., not following NRC guidance in the NRC letter dated April 13, 2007),

provide the data for these failures as requested in GL 2007-01.

Response

Response to this question is not applicable (see response to question 2 above).
