Dear Sir or Madam:

By letters dated August 3, 2001 and March 18, 2002, the NRC issued Bulletins 2001-01 (Reference 1) and 2002-01 (Reference 4) requiring licensees to provide the results of their reactor pressure vessel head inspections within 30 days after plant startup. This letter provides the Entergy Operations, Inc. (Entergy) response to Bulletin 2001-01 item 5 and Bulletin 2002-01 item 2 for the Waterford Steam Electric Station, Unit 3 (Waterford 3).

As previously committed in References 2 and 5, Entergy completed a bare metal effective visual examination of 100% of the Waterford 3 vessel head penetrations between March 31, 2002 and April 1, 2002. No vessel head penetration leakage, cracking, or degradation was identified.

Additionally, the reactor vessel head was found to be free of boric acid deposits and in good condition.
