3 On July 13, 2004 at 1610, Clinton scrammed when lightning struck a 345 kV transmission line near the plant. A relay associated with the main power transformer actuated prematurely during the event, causing a generator load reject.

SUMMARY

Clinton experienced a forced outage on July 13 when a lightning strike caused a generator load reject. A planned replacement of the reactor recirculation pump B seal was performed during the outage.
