Gentlemen:
On July 15, 1987, we verbally notified your Mr. I. Barnes of a deficiency involving cracked insulation coatings associated with the solenoid valves on the feed water isolation valves.
This is an interim report of a potentially reportable item under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e). Our latest interim report, logged TXX-6647, was submitted on August 13, 1987.
We are continuing our evaluation of the impact of this issue upon the safety-of plant operations.
