FSAR AMENDMENT 64 DESCRIPTION Gentlemen:

j Amendment 64 to the CPSES FSAR was transmitted to you under a separate cover letter, TXX-6570, dated August 3, 1987.

Amendment 64 provides several updates, additions and editorial changes to the

]

FSAR as w al as a revised Effective Page Listing for the affected portions of j

the reporu. This amendment includes revisions addressing the following topics:

1.

A change to correctly describe the earliest code version allowed for ASME Code Class 2 and 3 components (Table 3.2-1).

A change to describe the use of a plant specific analysis to determine the required isolation air exchange rate for the control room (Section 6.4).

A change to update the FSAR to incorporate information pertaining to the heat treatment and shotpeening processes for steam generator tubes (Section 5.4).

A change to update the component leakage characteristics for i

potential control room leakage paths to better describe the as-built plant (Table 6,4-4).

{

A change to revise the accident monitoring category for Safety Injection Tank Accumulator pressure and the range for Containment Atmospheric Temperature (Section 7.5).

A change to reflect the replacement of the Plant Support Power j

System (PSPS) transformer (Section 8.2).

A change to Table 17A-1 to correct the safety category for masonry walls and add an item entitled " Removable Precast Block Walls".

An addition to describe the use of Code Case N-411 damping values in lieu of Regulatory Guide 1.61 values in piping analyzed by the response spectrum method (Appendices IA(N) & 1A(B)).

The addition of qualified Post-Accident Neutron Flux Monitoring Instrumentation (Section 7).

The addition of the separation criteria between PA Speaker wire or i

radiation monitor detector wiring and Class 1E wiring (8.3).

Several editorial changes which include the re-issuance of Appendices, Sections, Tables and Figures utilizing the format allowing computerization of the amendment change bars and numbers.

This computerization ensures consistency and accuracy of the FSAR.

(Appendix 1A(N) & 1A(B), Sections 5.4, 6.4, 8.3, 13.1, T17A-1, T032.110-1 thru T032.110-6, F8.2-1 thru F8.2-6, F8.2-8, F8.2-12, etc.)

A change to update the personnel assignments and resumes (13.1).

Pages which do not have changes but are included in the amendment (either because they are on the opposite side of the sheet from a page that was changed or because a change shifted the existing material to a new page) are not discussed in the attachment.
