Dear Mr. Johnson:
On September 15, 1986, we verbally notified your Mr. I. Barnes of a deficiency involving unconsolidated concrete in the exterior wall of CPSES Unit 2 Reactor Containment Building.
We have submitted an interim report logged TXX-6024, dated October 15, 1986. This is an interim report of a potentially reportable item under the provision of 10CFR50.55(e).
Preliminary evaluations indicate that in the event this issue had remained undetected, no condition adverse to the safety of plant operations would exist. Documentation supporting our position is currently in the final stages of review. We anticipate submitting our final report no later than January 23, 1987.
