Dear Mr. Johnson:
On March 14, 1986, we verbally notified your Mr. T. F. Westerman of a deficiency involving the field flash and K1 relays which are required to operate during the starting process of the diesel generators.
This is an interim report of a potentially reportable item under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e). Our last interim report was logged TXX-4920, dated July 18, 1986. We received an extension in submitting this report from your Mr. I.
Barnes until September 17, 1986.
We are continuing our evaluation and anticipate submitting our next report by September 30, 1986.
