Dear Mr. Noonan:
In our letter of August 26, 1986, we requested NRC approval to use ASME Code Case N-253-4 dated February 14, 1985. During the Bethesda meeting of August 28, 1986, the NRC staff informed us that the NRC had internally approved N-253-2 dated April 4, 1983, and intended to list that revision in the next revision of Regulatory Guide 1.84. For our purposes, N-253-2 is equally acceptable. We therefore amend our request of August 26, 1986 to specify Code Case N-253-2.
