SUBJECT:

COMANCHE PEAK STEAM ELECTRIC STATION DOCKET NOS. 50-445 AND 50-446 WEIDMULLER TERMINAL BLOCKS SDAR: CP-86-01 (FINAL REPORT)

Dear Mr. Johnson:

On January 7, 1986, we vertally notified your Mr. T. Westerman of a deft-ciency regarding a supplier of terminal blocks used in Class IE applica-tions who has taken exception to 10 CFR Part 21 provisions specified in the procurement documents. We have submitted an interim report logged TXX-4691, dated February 5, 1986.

Weidmuller Terminations, Inc. has taken exception to 10 CFR Part 21 for the Weidmuller Standard Assembly Rail, Type TS-32. We have requested the supalier to perform additional te ts and provide information for the speci-fic hardware. After review of the information, the item will be dedicated as a " basic component" for nuclear power use as permitted by 10 CFR Part 21.3(a)4 and (C-1). These efforts have resulted in our conclusion that this issue is not reportable under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e).

Records supporting this determination are available for your inspectors review at the CPSES site.

Very truly yours, l 7 '
