Dear Mr. Noonan:
Texas Utilities letter TXX-4417 dated February 11, 1985 expressed interest in the expeditious NRC review of the Nuclear Construction Issues Group (NCIG) report entitled " Visual Weld Acceptance Criteria for Structural Welding At Nuclear Power Plants" (NCIG-01).
By letter dated May 7, 1985 the NCIG submitted Revision 2 to this report, incorporating NRC staff comments.
We understand that the generic approval of this report is expected in the very near future. We hereby request specific staff approval for use of the visual weld acceptance criteria for CPSES Units 1 and 2.
