At 1830, when the operator returned to his truck he noticed his Troxler Model 3440 (s/n 32207 8 millicuries Cs-137 and 40 millicuries Am-241/Be) was missing. The theft was reported to local law enforcement. The gauge was locked in the bed of the truck. The company's Radiation Safety Officer is enroute to conduct an investigation.</br>THIS MATERIAL EVENT CONTAINS A "LESS THAN CAT 3" LEVEL OF RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL</br>Sources that are "Less than IAEA Category 3 sources," are either sources that are very unlikely to cause permanent injury to individuals or contain a very small amount of radioactive material that would not cause any permanent injury.
