The source is secured under lock and key and is being stored by the licensee. Upon receipt of further information, the Department will update this report as more information comes in.</br>Georgia Incident Number: 95</br>* * * UPDATE ON 06/02/2025 AT 0926 EDT FROM KAAMILYA NAJEEULLAH TO JORDAN WINGATE * * *</br>The following is a summary of information provided by the Georgia Radioactive Materials Program (the Department) via email:</br>The official written report and corrective action from (the licensee) was received on May 28, 2025. The report states that contractors removed the gauge in error; field operators failed to identify the gauge during walkdown procedure/planning. When removed the gauge was 10 feet away from the workers and stayed 30 feet away from operators in the field for two days. All involved were notified; dose assessment was completed and calculations provided. Based on calculated radiation doses, no worker or member of the public received a dose greater than the annual dose limit of 100 mrem.
