On 1/17/17 at 2130 CST, the MURR (UniversiOn 1/17/17 at 2130 CST, the MURR (University of Missouri Research Reactor) was shut down due to the failure of the regulating blade to move. This email is a required notification per MURR TS 6.6.c.(1) to report to the NRC Operations Center that an Abnormal Occurrence as defined by MURR TS 1.1 happened. Specifically, MURR was not in compliance with all Limiting Conditions for Operations (LCOs). MURR was not in compliance with the LCO TS 3.2.a. which states, 'All control blades, including the regulating blade, shall be operable during reactor operation.' The regulating blade was repaired, and the required compliance procedure was conducted on the regulating blade prior to the reactor being started up on 1/18/17. Currently, MURR is again at 10 MW. A detailed event report will follow within 14 days as required by MURR TS 6.6.c.(3).</br>The reactor was at 10 MW power when this event occurred.
