This 4-hour Non-Emergency notification to … This 4-hour Non-Emergency notification to the NRC is being made based on a notification to another government agency per 10 CFR 50.72(h)(2)(xi).</br>On December 6, 2008 at 1253 the Control Room was informed by Turkey Point Fossil Environmental personnel that they contacted the Florida Department of Environmental Management and Florida State Warning Point due to overflowing an ash pit for the Turkey Point Fossil Units 1 and 2. The overflow was of industrial waste water with a volume of approximately 2250 gallons and allowed directly into the cooling canal system. The state agency notifications were completed at 1128 on December 6, 2008. The overflow was stopped by equalizing the level between each ash pit.</br>The NRC Senior Resident has been notified.The NRC Senior Resident has been notified. +
