The inspectors identified an NCV of 10 CFR … The inspectors identified an NCV of 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix B, Criterion II, Quality Assurance Program, for improperly classifying Low Pressure Coolant Injection (LPCI) pump mechanical seals as non-safety-related. The licensee subsequently concluded that the seals should be classified as safety-related based upon Exelon procedure SM-AA-300 and parts classification Guide M-1994-300, and reclassified them as safety-related. The performance deficiency was determined to be more than minor because if left uncorrected, it would become a more significant safety concern. This finding was of very low safety significance because it was a qualification deficiency confirmed not to result in loss of operability or functionality.
